RE: No A/C for me with the Honda EU3000

In those instances where you were unable to run the A/C with the EU3000, makes me wonder whether that same trailer, when plugged into typical 30 Amp shore power, would blow the 30 amp breakers when the A/c was turned on with other power hungry devices. Like someone said, I'd take the trailer back to the dealer and say, this trailer's A/C has something wrong with it.

RE: Inverter style generator versus standard generator

Voltage regulation is one side of it, yes. However, many devices are very critical of the 60 cps frequency of electricity. Your typcial surge protector will not help regulate frequency.

RE: No A/C for me with the Honda EU3000

I find this impossible to believe. I've owned one of these and it ran a 15k A/C plus other power hungry components at the same time.
You were plugging the RV into the generator via a dog-bone or other type of adapter into the 30 amp receptacle of the generator, correct??
If you run two EU2000s don't forget you'll need the parallel wiring kit OR buy one from your dealer. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Good luck with the twins.

Palo Duro Canyon SP - Which RV Area

We are planning a trip to Palo Duro Canyon this Spring. For those of you who have been there and camped there, which of the three RV camping areas did you like most and why?
Our 5er is a 36 foot triple slide. Is one of the camping areas more condusive to larger rigs than the others?
I see there are a few pull-thoughs, but backing this monster into a tight spot isn't an issue with me. The wife is amazed at times where I've be able to put the rig.
I'm more interested in the view and not being right up against the next trailer for a week....if you know what I mean.
Thank you ahead of time for all who respond.

RE: Honda 3000 mounted on hitch at rear of 5th wheel

Issues regarding impact on pin weight aside, the importance of having a properly designed, heavy duty system to be used to carry the weight of a generator....say 100 lbs or more, at the rear of an RV trailer is paramount.
The ONLY way one should put this much weight on the rear of an RV is attached directly to the frame using heavy gauge steel components. Anything less than this is doomed for failure. Using a hitch rated for 300 lbs. is looking for trouble. The reason is the forces from 100 lbs, quickly multiply once in motion.
I wouldn't even consider mounting a rack on the rear of my 5er, unless it was via two two-inch receiver hitches attached to each side of the frame rail. I'm talking about the actual frame, not a steel extension of the frame used solely for the purpose of attaching lower facia or other components....like my last 5er. Its frame ended about six feet to the rear of the axle. Lighter weight "C" channel was used to extend toward the rear of the trailer.
Personally, I would not risk the loss of my $2,000 generator for convenience of hauling it this way.
